Week 52. The last week of 2024.

And what a great year 2024 has been for my creativity. I struggled but learned a lot. The end of this year was the culmination of me taking my creative work much more seriously.

Now that I got the ball rolling, I have high hopes that 2025 is when I really start showing the majority of my work.

Wins This Week

As I talked about in my first weekly reflection, I had a plan to write some shorter work for my main novel that I am tentatively calling The Añerna.

Things have changed a bit from the initial plan, but the plan still remains. I will write three short stories that can be collected into a novella. The short stories will be focusing on the main character of The Añerna and her backstory.

I am nearly done with the first draft of the first short story – 500 words a day is currently my pace.

I also continued to create a graphic design piece every day.

The goal is to reach 100 days in a row and see how much my skills have developed by the end of the challenge. It’s been a lot of fun so far, and I’ve been learning how to use Affinity Photo 2.

What To Work On

The one thing that I want to work on next week and in 2025 is my illustration skills.

Even if its just for 30 minutes a day, that’s better than nothing. Better than not working on that skill and not developing it all. That is one of my main goals for tomorrow.

Final Thoughts

Another successful week before the end of 2024.

I’m really happy where my writing is heading and hope to share something soon. Practicing in public, after all, is the best way to grow and learn. And to be the master of many you have to be willing to make mistakes and makes mistakes often.

See you in the year of 2025.
