Reflecting on Week 05 of 2025

I have one word for my progress this week: slow.
That’s not a bad thing. But not what I wanted for Week 05 of 2025. The vision for this week, after all, had been to tackle all my goals. I didn’t do that.
In all honesty, I wasn’t feeling so hot this week.
But that is an excuse and I know it. I expect much more from myself. Not perfection but action. I work full-time, so every minute matters outside that work.
This week, however, was not a total loss.
What I accomplished
For Week 05 of 2025, even though I didn’t hit all of my metrics, I did make progress on my various creative paths.
Writing
I’m disappointed in my progress this week.
I was supposed to write 250 words a day, and I did not. But I remain optimistic. I just bit off more than I could chew.
Rather than allow this failure to get me down, I’ll learn from this failure.
The problem I’m having is trying to me a word quote, ignoring the flow that comes with writing. It’s difficult for me to meet a quota when the process of writing often feels…stilted. So another change is desperately needed.
For next week, I will spend an hour a day writing.
I’ll set a timer and get rid of any distractions and write for one hour. Just one. I can spare an hour even with my full-time job.
Design
I continued to have success.
I didn’t miss a day working on the 100 Days of Graphic Design challenge I set for myself. I’m more than halfway done with this challenge. Next week, I definitely want to create some book covers.
Here is what I made:

Illustration
For illustration, I didn’t draw every day, but had time to do so during the weekend. Just simple stuff — practicing the fundamentals of shapes.
Goals for next week
- Writing: Write for one hour a day. The goal is consistency.
- Design: Don’t miss a day for 100 Days of Graphic Design challenge.
- Illustration: Practice the fundamentals every day for at least 15 minutes
