Reflecting on Week 06 of 2025

This week was shit.
There is no easy way around it.
I made no progress in any of the creative fields I want to be a part of. Paralyzed with work for my 9 to 5 and assignments I needed to complete for school, I got nothing done. That sucked.
But that doesn’t mean I didn’t learn anything.
What I accomplished
Writing
In a previous reflection, I wanted to write an hour a day.
I didn’t quite get there. Again, I might be too ambitious and believe I have the time when I don’t. That’s something I need to consider.
And when I do sit down to write, I don’t know how to parse the scene that I am currently writing.
The scene is getting cumbersome, that much I can say. But with first drafts, I just worry about plowing through the scenes. The goal is to finish the first. That is what I’m most concerned about.
In that regard, I did make progress on finishing the first draft.
Design
Another successful week working on the 100 Days of Graphic Design challenge.
I didn’t miss a day this week, and that alone is a win. I’m not happy with every design, but at least I was able to create something. Half the battle has already been won.
Here is what created for this week:

Nothing new here.
I continued to work on the fundamentals. Specifically, my line work. That’s it.
What I learned
For Week 06, I learned that I have a real issue with procrastination.
Procrastination truly affected my creative work this week. I know what I needed to do to build healthy, creative habits. Yet, I sat around doing nothing.
It’s fucking annoying.
There really is no excuse for not sitting down and focusing on the task at hand. If I want to be a writer, I need to writer. If I want to be a designer, I need to design. If I want to be an artist, I need to create art.
It’s that fucking simple.
Goals for next week
With that being said, here are my creative goals for next week:
- Writing: Write for one hour each day. No excuses. No word count bullshit.
- Design: Continue to create a graphic a day for the 100 Days of Graphic Design challenge.
- Illustration: Practice line making for 2D art.
