Reflecting on Week 13 of 2025

What I accomplished and learned
Creating a new schedule for myself when it comes to my creative work was rocky this week.
Not a complete and total shitfest, but I fell behind on a lot of work. That’s okay. I can’t be perfect every week. What matters is that I learn from mistakes and grow from them.
With that being said, here is what I managed to accomplish.
Writing
I published my first flash fiction piece this Saturday!
A short piece about an otherworldly being getting accustomed to living on Earth. It’s been an idea I’ve had in my writing backlog for a while now. I plan to write more on this idea (and others) in the future and bundle it into a collection called Alternate Tales of the Future.
This week was the first week of my next challenge: 10 Weeks of Flash Fiction. And it’s been great!
Design
I created two posters this week based on two movies I liked: Jennifer’s Body and Ex-Machina.

I like the results, but I still feel as thought something like be missing. As I continue to take this course on Affinity Photo 2, I hope I can find different ways to make interesting design pieces.
Graphic design is the art and practice of visually communicating ideas and messages through the use of text, images, and visual elements.
I want to do more of that.
Art
Even though I didn’t sketch every day like I wanted to, I still had some good days.
I wanted to focus on Artwod’s Beginner Road to expand my illustration skills. But I also know observational drawings are important if I hope to see any sort of success. I didn’t post anything on Wednesday and Saturday like I wanted, but I will be sure to fix that next week.
Goals for next week
- Writing: Complete and post second flash fiction on Saturday.
- Design: Complete two pieces and post on Wednesday and Saturday separately.
- Art: Complete two observational pieces and post on Wednesday and Saturday.
