Reflecting on Week 15 of 2025

Damn.
That’s all I can really say about Week 15.
Another week and I dropped the ball. I could place the blame on work and the instability of the economy due to some very idiotic people in charge of my country, the United States of America, but that would be an excuse.
I had plenty of time to accomplish the majority of my creative goals I set for myself. And I didn’t lock in like I knew I could. That’s all on me.
Writing
I struggled to complete a flash fiction story this week.
And I mean struggled.
Usually, the process goes something like this:
- Write first draft
- Edit
- Create cover image
- Post
Simple, right?
Except, I was stuck on the first step for two weeks.
Maybe that was a sign that I should’ve worked on a different story, on a different idea. I’ll take that into account as I go into Week 16. If I can’t complete this story in Week 16 than I need to move on.
Design
For design, the goal was to create three pieces.
I did just that.

But I didn’t spend the time I wanted to spend learning about Affinity Photo 2. Knowing how to use your tools is essential for creativity. I still don’t know a lot of the features that Affinity Photo 2 provides.
Illustration
I didn’t sketch an observational piece a day like I wanted to.
I did stick to the Beginner Road from Artwod, but not every day. For me to see any success, to be able to draw the characters I write about, I have to be more stringent about drawing every day for at least 30 minutes a day.
At least.
Sketching every day, even if it’s just a circle and straight lines, is better than not sketching at all.
Goals for next week
With that being said, here are my goals for Week 16:
- Writing: Complete supernatural flash fiction by Saturday.
- Design: Complete at least three graphic design pieces (book covers, posters, etc.)
- Illustration: Sketch every day and complete at least three observational pieces.
